VZOchat is a free instant-messaging program with a strong focus on live webcams. Once signed up for a free account with VZOchat, which takes just a few minutes, you are able to immediately begin using the free chat messenger. It essentially is a small window on its right which displays your webcam and all of your contacts in your contact book. Once you click "add new contact" and input your details, the software will transfer your contacts into your VZOchat account and will also save any passwords or other information you have stored on your computer in another location. You are also able to browse recent messages on your online status to see what's happening on your path in real time.
VZOchat has a very simple interface and the free video chat features are quite basic. The biggest feature of VZOchat however is it's ability to use Windows Live Mesh networking which allows you to connect with people you have previously met through Zumba classes, groups, and other locations. The software allows you to easily send a video message or audio message from your desktop computer to any one in your network that uses Windows Live Mesh. In addition, the software allows you to upload any files you wish to share them with anyone in your network with the click of a button.
One other useful feature of VZOchat is it's ability to use Windows Live Mesh to log in to any other Zune application. The software provides a pretty helpful desktop icon for "My Computer" which serves as a simple interface to any Windows Live Mesh location. The VZOchat software is available for free download at the VZO Chat blog which gives you all the technical details you'll need to get started with this great new software. As the price for this software is under $30, I think it's well worth it for anyone who wants to try to improve the quality of their video chat. You can get the latest version of VZOchat for free and if you decide to upgrade later, it costs the same as buying the software in the iTunes store.
